2007 was a great year for the Zips thanks to great sponsor and community support. Attending the festivities this year were deans of the engineering college, Dean Haritos, and of the business college, Dean Aggarwal.  Members of the University of Akron Challenge X team were on hand to discuss the vehicle as well as give rides in Joey.  Individuals from Luk, Scofield's Repair, SBM, Timken and Firestone were also in attedance.

Earth Day at the Cleveland Zoo

Challenge X representatives were present at EarthFest at the Cleveland Zoo.  Over 10,000 were in attendance to celebrate Earth Day and learn of alternatives to daily living to benefit the environment. Joey was well accepted by all.  Please visit the Earth Day Coalition's website here.

GM Dealership Day

Joey was proudly displayed at Fred Martin Chevrolet in Akron. Despite inclement weather, many people from the dealership visited our Equinox including many of the mechanics to gain a further understanding of what the project was all about. The mechanics as well as the public were full of questions about the decisions made by the team and team leader Mike Roblin was on hand to answer these questions.
