This program gives students the opportunity to participate in hands-on
research and development with the assistance of mentorship and technological
support from GM. Students working on this project will be prepared to
enter into and contribute to the high-paced world of automotive engineering.
The Zips are a diverse and interesting group of students and faculty.
The team is comprised of both graduate and undergraduate students with
advising from experienced faculty members. Some team members work regularly
on their cars while others have very little prior experience working
on vehicles, but everyone participating in this elite competition will
receive a wealth of experience by the end of year three. Team members
are mostly electrical and mechanical engineering students, but all are
welcome to join. In fact we have team members from engineering management
and even communications. For information on how to get involved
see our contact
page or click here.
Our team is broken up into 3 main groups: Electrical
, Mechanical , and Combination/Other.
